Private Tour to Montserrat Monastery with Aida: A Journey of Faith and Beauty
Your private driver and guide will pick you up at your preferred time and location in Barcelona. We recommend starting at 9:30 AM to enjoy the performance of the famous boys' choir, La Escolanía de Montserrat, one of the oldest in Europe.
Highlights of the Montserrat Monastery Tour
The Journey
The scenic drive from Barcelona to Montserrat takes about an hour. Upon arrival, you’ll have the option to ascend via the thrilling Montserrat Cable Car—a 5-minute ride offering spectacular views of the Llobregat River, the village of Monistrol, and the Santuario de la Santa Cova. If you prefer not to take the cable car, don’t worry—your private vehicle can take you directly to the monastery.
Montserrat Monastery
Explore the historic monastery and its Black Madonna, known as La Moreneta, the patron saint of Catalonia. Aida will guide you through its fascinating history, dating back to 888 AD, when Count Wilfred the Hairy donated the hermitage of Santa María to Ripoll Monastery.
La Escolanía
If visiting Monday to Friday (or Sundays from September to April), you’ll have the chance to hear the angelic voices of La Escolanía de Montserrat at 1:00 PM (12:00 PM on Sundays).
